Dr. Shwe Pon
Biography

Dr Shwe Pon is a Burmese politician and a medical doctor, who is currently serving as the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Health appointed by the National Unity Government of Myanmar. She was born on the 24th of February 1951. She has served as the Member of National League for Democracy and of Bago Township Executive Committee since 1988, Member of Central Committee, NLD (Bago Region) 2012 till date, Member of Central Women Working Committee (NL D), Vice president of National Health Network (NLD), elected member of parliament in 2015 general election, representing Bago constituency, elected member of parliament in 2020 general election, representing Bago constituency.ย
She acted as a member of International Relations Committee (Pyithu Hluttaw), Women and Child Rights Committee (Pyithu Hluttaw), International Parliamentary Union (Pyidaungsu Hluttaw). Her involvement in charities and humanitarian help throughout her career are –
- Township medical officer at Cooperative Medical Clinic at Bago Township from 1978 to 1992
- Center-In-Charge at Marie Stopes International at Bago Township from 2004 to 2012
- In-charge doctor at Thukha charity clinic (Bago) and provided humanitarian assistance, emergency activities and essential medical services. (2012 to 2015)
- Cooperation with INGOs/ NGOs and CSOs and providing support to Nargis Cyclone affected beneficiaries in term of Humanitarian assistance, emergency activities and essential medical services politically conflict and disaster affected communities
Her political aim is to form Federal Union of Myanmar by participation and contribution maximum capabilities as the deputy minister for the Ministry of Health, National Unity Government of Myanmar.
